Lactation and Doula Support

Serving Lane County, OR, and surrounding areas

Welcome, I’m Liz, and I’m glad you’re here

Navigating pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood can feel overwhelming, and we were never meant to do it alone. As a birth and postpartum doula and an IBCLC, I provide the personalized care, resources, and encouragement you deserve throughout pregnancy, labor, and the 4th trimester. Whether you’re preparing for birth or working through complex feeding challenges, I’d love to help.

  • What is a doula?

A birth doula, or birth companion, is a nonmedical professional who offers physical, emotional, and informational support throughout pregnancy, labor, and birth. Think of your doula as a dedicated advocate focused on your comfort, well-being, and peace of mind through each stage of the birthing process.

  • Will a doula replace my partners role?

Not at all! A doula is there to support both you and your partner. They can offer guidance and reassurance, helping your partner feel more confident and involved. Many partners find that a doula frees them to be fully present, knowing there’s someone else focused solely on the well being of their laboring partner and themselves.

  • When should I hire a doula?

You can hire a doula at any stage, whether early in pregnancy or closer to your due date. Many families choose to connect with a doula early on, which allows time to build a relationship, plan for the birth, and receive ongoing support and resources.

  • How is a doula different from a midwife?

While both doulas and midwives support birthing people, their roles are quite different. A midwife provides medical care and monitors the health of you and your baby, whereas a doula is focused entirely on your comfort and emotional well-being. Your doula offers nonmedical support, helping you feel more comfortable and informed throughout labor and birth.

  • What if I'm planning a medicated or cesarean birth?

Doulas are supportive of all birth plans, whether you’re planning a medicated birth, a cesarean, or an unmedicated one. A doula can help you prepare, answer questions, and offer emotional and physical comfort, no matter the birth type. They’ll be there to help ease any anxiety, advocate for your preferences, and provide continuous support.
